🎭 About the Workshop – Acting Craft Lab (Edition 1)

Acting Craft Lab is the first in a curated series of actor training modules by Samarth Theatre Group. Each edition introduces a unique set of techniques and practices, guided by seasoned theatre practitioners.

Edition 1 brings together the dynamic physical vocabulary of Laban Movement Analysis and the imaginative, psychophysical approach of Michael Chekhov’s Acting Technique. This 3-month immersive program is designed to help actors expand their instrument—physically, emotionally, and creatively.

Participants will:

• Develop physical and emotional awareness

• Tap into impulse, gesture, and psychological action

• Explore character and text with new insight

• Work in ensembles and engage in multiple class performances

Led by Sandeep Rawat, this edition also sets the foundation for future Acting Craft Lab sessions—each with new topics, guest mentors, and evolving pedagogies.
